Tomoko Yoshino is the first woman President of JTUC-RENGO, Japan’s largest trade union organisation. She was elected to the post in October 2021 after six years of service as Vice President. She is an active member of the international trade union circuit and sits on the General Council of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC). Ms Yoshino is also Vice President of its regional organisation, ITUC Asia-Pacific (ITUC-AP), which represents over 60 million workers in 36 countries and territories.
