The OECD formally opened accession discussions with a number of countries yesterday, including Argentina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Croatia, Peru and Romania.
This gives the countries formal candidate status, after several years in which they have been working with the OECD on a number of issues, aligning to some of its legal instruments. For example, the NCP institutional arrangements are part of aligning with the OECD on instruments related to trade, investment and responsible business practices.
The TUAC is committed to ensuring trade union voices are represented and heard throughout the process.
