Hideyuki Shimizu

Vice President of TUAC

Hideyuki Shimizu joined Chiba-prefectural junior-high schools as a teacher in 1983.

He started his trade union career in 2000 ,when he was elected a Central Executive Committee Member of Japan Teachers’ Union (JTU).

In 2016 he was elected General Secretary and later President of the JTU in 2020.

Today he is General Secretary of the Japanese trade union JTUC-RENGO.

The Trade Union Advisory Committee (TUAC) to the OECD is an interface for trade unions with the OECD. It is an international trade union organisation which has consultative status with the OECD and its various committees.
