TUAC-FES Webinar Series

The OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises are government recommendations for responsible business conduct. The Guidelines comprehensively cover: information disclosure, human rights, employment and industrial relations, environment, bribery, consumer interests, science and technology, competition and taxation. The Guidelines apply to Companies operating in or from countries that adhere to them. Multinational companies and investors should address violations of the Guidelines in their own operations as well as in the supply chain and other business relationships. Governments that adhere to the Guidelines are required to establish National Contact Points (NCPs) to promote the Guidelines and manage “specific instances” of negative impacts on workers and communities. Korea, Japan, New Zealand and Australia are OECD Members with NCPs.  Indonesia, Thailand and other countries in the region are not members and workers struggle to access human rights in the Guidelines.  This webinar is an opportunity for OECD and non-OECD based trade unions to discover tools for defending worker rights.

Webinars are Open to trade union representatives from TUAC affiliates, the Global Union Federations and affiliates of the ITUC in Japan, Korea and other ASEAN nations.
